play a song for me
don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining; pee on my leg and tell me you love me [17 Sep 2009|07:24pm]

Barack Obama hates black people!

i don't know whether to shake my head or wag my finger at him.

on one hand i feel bad for him. i like him, i don't like to see him step on his dick.

on the other hand, he is unabashedly overstepping his bounds. first when the harvard professor got arrested and he made the fucking cops apologize (we all know how much i hate police, so their dignity or and rightness or wrongness to their actions on the night in question is not where i take issue here).

it wasn't his place to correct the situation. it's not his place to call kanye west a jackass. just because he's hip doesn't mean he's got any place or clout in that world. that's what the media is for.

and just for the motherfucking record, kanye does not deserve the albatross he got from saying that shit taylor swift or whoever. who cares if it was rude? what protest isn't rude? it needed to be said, and kanye was the only one in the whole fucking room with the balls to say it - and did you see how he handed her back the mic? like he was fucking battling her. it was great.

but back to the president and the conspicuous hypocrisy of this rant. if he's hip, he's got a voice among hipsters - but when he moved into the great white phallus palace he took a veritable oath of silence - or should have. but he's going and upsetting the balance of power, and not in the way the republicans are pissed about (not even because of any inherent goodness or badness in that riling, but because it is a macro power. when the president starts meddling in the micro, the macro is changed, but it is with one man at the top of a pyramid. the reason our system is bogged down and incapable of doing just about anything with anything resembling unity is because it was designed that way, to prevent rapid change and the associated domino effect of a tyrant's rise to power.

not that i think barack obama is a tyrant, i don't. i think he's maybe overzealous a little, and a little more off the ball than was thought previous. i am still pleased with him on the whole, though.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia starts tonight. the premiere is going to be an hour long. I very much enjoy the freedom they take with that show. they have several hour-long, several two-parters, and as original of ideas as any of the greats.

I have been thinking about it, and actualy i am glad that my school is taking so long. i am three solid years of school (so probably four years, including summers and time between under and grad - more if i go overseas and teach) away from being able to teach, and i do not project a market for teachers for five, maybe six years with all that i am learning being back on the inside of the bureaucracy.

oh, and i want to look into donating my body to the bodies exhibit. I wonder if you can design your own display?
